Daniel Jon Nichols, 79, of Spartanburg, SC, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2023. He was born in Minneapolis, MN to the late Alpha Stelling and Harold Nichols. Daniel graduated from Hopkins High School in Hopkins, MN where he was born and raised in 1961, He then went on to have a long, successful 30 year career with Qualitone which then became Starkey. In his free time he took great interest in airplanes, trains, and large ships (especially in the Duluth Harbor) and enjoyed model trains, boats and putting together models. He will be remembered for his kindness and his love for God and family. Daniel is survived by his wife, Sharon Lee Nichols; son, Jonathan L. Nichols (Kimberly J.); daughter, Rachel R. Nichols; grandchildren: Kaitlyn Strabel (Christopher), Hunter Nichols, Kayla Nielsen, and Lindsey Bellamy; great-grandchildren, Rowan and Raelynn Nielsen; sister, Melinda Thompson (Gerold); and brothers, Harold "Skip” Nichols(Linda) and Tommy Stelling. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Sonya Haner, Dianne Leedahl, and Linda Nichols; and brother, David Nichols.
