Hedin, Diane Marie of Hopkins, MN, passed away on January 1, 2024, from complications of dementia at the age of 80 years old. Diane was born on April 1, 1943, to Estelle and Herb Lehmann and was raised by Estelle and Everette Hedin. She lived her whole life in Hopkins and worked for 30+ years in Parts Assembly at Everette's Eden Prairie company, Foto Mark. Diane lived a life that was challenging but she persevered, staying focused on the things that brought her joy like the Opera and her Minnesota Twins. She knew players and their stats by heart and had an extensive list of player-friends from her younger days attending game after game. Diane also loved to travel, and her explorations brought her to Europe, Egypt, and many places here in the US. She loved to see new places and meet new people and to pet as many dogs as she could find. Those of us that knew her best saw a spark in her that was lighthearted, sweet, and simple. Communication was not always easy with Diane, but she taught us about acceptance of others and to lead with kindness. We learned to have patience, to give hugs, and that the simplest gestures are sometimes the perfect gift. She has taught us that time is precious and to live life to the fullest of our individual abilities. Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Estelle and Everette Hedin and Herb Lehmann and is survived by her sister, Patti Gertzen (Ernie), nieces Jennifer Wilber (Brent) and Tracy Bayer (Loren), great nieces and nephews, cousins, several Lehmann's, and an uncle and a lot of friends who she touched with her kindness and her light. A celebration of life will be held sometime this spring. Rest well sweet Diane.
