Kathryn Lahre
I knew Kathy casually in High School and we reconnected for a bit at the U of
Mn. Life then sent us our separate ways. in the mid '90S a friend of mine from the running world, OC Williams, showed up at my office needing computer guidance. His wife, whom I'd not met was behind him and after mere seconds we recognized each other. OC and Kathy, at that time, were involved in producing a 50k run (the Trail Mix) at Hyland Park in Bloomington. OC was the frontman and Kathy did all the paperwork given she was an accountant at the FBI. OC recruited a bunch of Comittee folks (myself included) from the Twin City Marathon to put on a fantastic event each spring. We all had fun and Kathy did most of the work. All profits from the event were donated to Three Rivers Park for Handicapped Access Equipment, Probably in excess of $50,000 over the years. So the next time you are at a Three Rivers park and see a kid riding an adaptive bike or rowing an adaptive boat, think of Kathy. That's her legacy to all of us.
I liked Kathy a lot and also loved the way she spelled her name. I have known many other Catherines so I liked her name.Kathy was a nice gal and seemed to enjoy being around people a lot, I thought. We laughed occasionally at things that happened in school...not close friends, but we will miss her smile at our gathering.Beverlee
